Council supports Saints with £3k for food hamper programme

Though we have been closed over the lockdown period, we have been trying to support our local community, and one of the ways we have done this is through food hamper giveaways.

We have been grateful to have had a lot of support from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council (NBBC) for our frozen meal hampers, which we have been giving to low income and free school meals receiving families, and vulnerable and low income individuals. We are so grateful that they have now provided us with £3000 to provide more hampers to people in food crisis.

We have run giveaways during the October half-term, November lockdown, Christmas week and are currently offering hampers during January in the third national lockdown.

Coronavirus has impacted more than the health of the public, with many losing jobs and unexpectedly hitting hard times. We at Saints want to do our best to help where we can, in whatever way we can. Whilst this programme is relying on funding, we hope to continue to be able to provide food to those who need it.
